One of our primary initiatives is to align with teachers and administration to help shift school culture to one that celebrates learning differences.
Together with the school management we can define a program with ongoing collaboration between DIRSI and the school.
The idea is for this to become a global project in which the school is able to take advantage of our multi-disciplinary team to support students, teachers, and parents. Our program supports schools from the very beginning phase of identifying which students would benefit from extra support, and continues support throughout ongoing process of providing specific support and shifting classrooms.
The screening phase : students are observed in their natural learning context, the classroom
The training phase : based on what we observe in the classroom we are able to provide specific training to teachers and parents
The operational phase: teachers and “Casa di Gioia” staff work in a collaboration to create classrooms that can serve a variety of learning profiles
